Mainz have completed the signing of 21-year-old Abdou Diallo from Monaco.

The central defender signs with the Bundesliga club on a five-year-deal until 2022 and will be hoping for more first team opportunities throughout the season. Capped at every age group for France and captaining the under-21 side, Diallo has the potential to be a great signing for Mainz.

Diallo made 11 appearances across four competitions last season for Monaco, playing five times in Ligue 1, four times in the Coupe de France and one time in both the Champions League and Coupe de la Ligue, failing to score but picking up one assist in the Coupe de France.
