Stipulation added to KOPW 2021 match at NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam

A stipulation has been added to the KOPW 2021 match at NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam in MetLife Dome on September 4.

Provisional KOPW 2021 Chase Owens will defend the title against Toru Yano in a Texas strap match. Owens made the announcement at today’s NJPW Summer Struggle show at the Yokohama Budokan.

After Owens, Taiji Ishimori and El Phantasmo defeated Yano, Robbie Eagles and Tiger Mask on today’s show, Owens hit Yano with a low blow. He then produced a strap from underneath the ring and whipped Yano with it. As he left the ring, Owens said that Yano had his stipulation for their match, a Texas strap match.

This will be the second Owens vs. Yano strap match for the provisional KOPW 2021 title this year. Yano defeated Owens in a YTR-style strap match at NJPW Castle Attack on February 27.

Owens went on to win the provisional KOPW 2021 in a New Japan Ranbo on the pre-show of Wrestle Grand Slam in Tokyo Dome on July 25.
