This Week’s WWE Smackdown Garners its Lowest Audience of the Year

This week’s edition of WWE Smackdown Live, which was scheduled to feature Jeff Hardy defending the WWE United States Title against Shinsuke Nakamura, was derailed creatively when Nakamura was pulled from the show due to a police dog bite.

Nakamura’s absence forced Jeff Hardy to face SAnitY’s Eric Young instead, and Smackdown Live was then headlined by Daniel Bryan vs Luke Harper of The Bludgeon Brothers.

According to ShowBuzz Daily, this week’s WWE Smackdown hit a new viewership low in 2018 averaging 2.135 million viewers. This week’s number is down from last week’s 2.315 for the Money in the Bank fallout show.

This week’s WWE Smackdown ranked #7 in overall cable TV viewership for the night.
