WWE Network to Broadcast Starrcade Special Following Next Week’s Co-Branded Live Event

Last November, WWE resurrected the classic Starrcade branding originally made famous by WCW, in order to increase ticket sales for a live event at the historic Greensboro Coliseum.

While the event was almost universally praised by those in attendance, many people were understandably upset when the company chose not to film the show or broadcast any part of it on the WWE Network.

It would appear that WWE has learned from its past mistakes this time around, as there is currently a one-hour block on the Network entitled “WWE Starrcade 2018 Special”, scheduled for next Sunday, Nov. 25th at 8PM ET. The special will be recorded the night before at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

At this point it’s unclear which matches will be tapped for the special, which will likely run over three hours live. The advertised main event was a steel cage match between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship, but obviously that will have to be changed as Styles is no longer champion.

Also announced for the Starrcade live event is Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental title, Shinsuke Nakamura defending the U.S. title against Rey Mysterio, and the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman facing Baron Corbin.
