IT IS THE time of year when all of the best tries and hits are cobbled together for your enjoyment and the people over at the Premiership have done their part by giving us a strong collection of their best five-pointers in 2014.

Strangely, front row forwards feature very prominently in a few instances. Check out Logovi’i Mulipola of Leicester for this great try.

And no, I don’t mean marvel at his searing pace (though that’s great) or his brute strength (that’s impressive too) but rather enjoy the massive ear-to-ear grin that accompanies his unlikely heroics.

That is how a tighthead should react when they score a try.

On an unrelated note, how on earth is Schalk Brits a hooker?!? The South African has better handling and footwork than an awful lot of backs and his lung-bursting breaks upfield are the rule rather than the exception in his game.

The funny thing is that when Keith Wood played, he was Schalk Brits except he was even more of an anomaly. Look at this for a step – and Wood gets bonus points for exemplary use of the boot.
