Andy Delort rules out leaving OGC Nice, wants to play with Edinson Cavani

Is speaking with Nice-Matin, 30-year-old OGC Nice striker Andy Delort appeared to rule out a move away from the Allianz Riviera this summer following the arrival of Lucien Favre as coach and says he would welcome the signing of former PSG and Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani.

Is a departure from Nice possible?“For the moment, no. With all that I accomplished last season and the public support that I received, I want to keep improving and enjoy my football. Here, there is everything to do, great things with the new project.”

Not even for a good contract in an exotic country?“Not yet, I’m only 30. I feel good, I’m sharp, I feel like the project suits me. I left Montpellier to aim higher, to play European football. Leaving Montpellier hurt.”

Do you follow the transfer window at all?“For now, I’m not. I know that the club’s leaders will sign good players. They want to be competitive and to go as far as possible in all competitions. We hear a lot of rumours.”

Including one involving Edinson Cavani?“I would love to play with him. Who wouldn’t? And then ask the defenders if they would be happy to have two Dobermans up front!”
