The Mario Lemina-backed start-up giving youth academy prospects a 2nd chance

French start-up Ballin FC, a mobile application that seeks to help young players become professional footballers, has organised a trial for tomorrow, for young amateur footballers from the best Ile-de-France clubs.

These include Montrouge FC, Sarcelles AAS (of Riyad Mahrez fame), US Torcy (Paul Pogba) and US Palaiseau (Benjamin Mendy). The Ballin trial has not limited itself to the Paris region, players from Tours FC, Arles Avignon and FC Lyon have also been selected for involvement.

Ballin, the sports technology start-up which specialises in data and video analysis for football, has selected the trial participants based on empirical information.

These young players now have the opportunity to be spotted by Europe’s biggest teams, including Liverpool and Inter Milan, who are sending scouts to observe the 50 footballers selected by Ballin between the ages of 17 & 19 in the 15th arrondissement in Paris.

Juventus, Birmingham, Brentford, Bordeaux, Caen, Guingamp and Metz will also send representatives to the session tomorrow.

Launched in April 2019, Ballin’s mobile application already has 10,000 users, who can input their own statistics after each game, share videos of their highlights and can review their own footage.

With more than 1,000 filmed matches on the device and partnerships with French amateur clubs like Pays d’Aix and FC Montceau, Ballin now wants to provide opportunities for semi-professionals, more specifically the best players on their application.
