One of the biggest stars in the entire wrestling industry today has got to be Kenny Omega. Omega just concluded an incredible run as IWGP Heavyweight Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and he has had one incredible match after the other in recent years. Omega’s success in wrestling seems like a fantastic story to tell, which is why there will be a new documentary about the Canadian wrestler coming out very soon. It appears that “The Cleaner” will be the subject of a new special titled “Omega Man: A Wrestling Love Story,” which is set to be released later on this year. According to SEScoops, Kenny Omega’s documentary is definitely coming out, and it will be officially premiering on TSN on March 27th.
There were previous reports which stated that HBO was working on a documentary for Kenny Omega. However, it appears now that that HBO’s Canadian division is that actual team that has been putting the special together. The report also noted that the documentary’s writer, assistant director, and producer Corey Erdman said on Twitter – which has since been deleted – that the special will be coming to the Toronto Sports Network this March. TSN is not available in the United States, but there will hopefully be a way for American fans to check out the documentary. Kenny Omega is still dominating the wrestling landscape, and now that he is a free agent, the belief is that he will either be signing with WWE or AEW.
Mike Kanellis and Maria Kanellis were reported to have asked for their WWE releases earlier this week by Pro Wrestling Sheet. Maria later posted a message on her Instagram outright denying that she asked for her release, but some remain skeptical over her and her husband’s futures in WWE. In an update provided by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the Kanellis’ did indeed ask for their releases, but it was noted that they asked to be let go weeks ago. They reportedly wanted to give notice to WWE but were refused by the company. It was also reported this week that The Revival similarly had their requests for a release turned down by WWE officials. For the time being, both Mike and Maria are staying in WWE.
