Main Show:
Tonight’s episode of Mixed Match Challenge opens up with Michael Cole, Renee Young & Vic Joseph welcoming us to the show. We head right to the ring for the first match of the night and it is Country Dominance vs. B’N’B.
Country Dominance (Bobby Lashley & Mickie James) vs. B’N’B (Finn Balor & Bayley): The crowd sings to Bayley before the match gets started. She was very happy about it. She locks up with Mickie James at a good stopping point and then they just didn’t stop singing. It ended only when James hit a hurricanrana. Shortly after, the men came in. Lashley immediately started to pose and show off how much bigger his muscles are than Balor’s. “This man is shredded like no other,” Renee Young said. “What a beast. Got any laundry to do there on those abs?” Balor goes up to do his own pose to chants from the crowd and Lashley attacks him from behind. They cut backstage to Naomi and Jimmy Uso and apparently they have accepted a rap battle challenge with Carmella & R-Truth. Bayley gets into the match and runs wild on James before Mickie takes control. She was going for a pin but Balor pulled her off. Lashley got in and Finn took him out, then went after Lio Rush, who ran away, attacked and found himself bounced off the turnbuckle. He was set up for the Coup de Grace but Lashley pushed Balor down. Bayley recovered in time to hit a Bayley-to-Belly on him to a big pop, but the distraction allowed James to come in and hit the DDT for the pinfall. Winners: Country Dominance (Bobby Lashley & Mickie James)
They show The RAW standings and Monster Eclipse & Country Dominance are both now 3-0, while this drops B’n’B to 2-2 on the season. Mahalicia & Team Pawz are both winless at 0-3. Meanwhile, we learn that the undefeated teams will wrestle next week.
Country Dominance was backstage to cut a promo on Monster Eclipse. “Next week, we’re going to show why we have dominated,” James said. “Exactly what she said,” Lashley followed. Rush chimed in to say “we’ve dominated and it’s going to be the same next week.”
We then head back to ringside for the next match of the evening and it is Day One Glow vs. The Fabulous Truth.
Day One Glow (Jimmy Uso & Naomi) vs. The Fabulous Truth (R-Truth & Carmella): WWE Champion AJ Styles is in the comments section talking about how excited for this match he is. There was dancing from Truth early on. Jimmy Uso got upset and grabbed a mic, asking about the rap battle challenge. “I didn’t know you was so sensitive,” Truth said after Jimmy pushed the mic in his chest. “A lil bit,” Jimmy responded.
Truth rapped and called his team intellectual. Carmella said that she’s sweet like honey. Naomi got her turn and called her team “Bonnie and Clyde.” Jimmy used his time as a set up for a dance break. Said dance break ended with Carmella kicking Naomi in the stomach and trying for a pin that Jimmy had to break up. So Truth came in and threw Uso out while Carmella put on a headlock.
“I do what I have to do, Naomi,” Carmella explained. Naomi got out before taking a ride on the Mellaround, but she countered Carmella rushing her in the corner with a kick to the face and that was enough to get the pin. Winners: Day One Glow (Jimmy Uso & Naomi)
SmackDown standings show us Team Awe-ska & Fenomenal Flair are both 3-0, Day One Glow is 2-2, while Fabulous Truth & Ravishing Rusev Day are both 0-3. Next week, we’ll get another battle of unbeaten teams. That means that next week is all about the four remaining undefeated teams. Mixed Match Challenge goes off the air.
