This Wednesday starts the ACLAV Cup semifinals without Drean Bolívar, the four times champion of the tournament that open the 2010-11 official season in Argentina.
Buenos Aires United, UPCN Volley, Formosa Union and Boca Juniors will fight to get the cup that has the same owner since 2006: Drean Bolívar.
Buenos Aires United won its group without problems beating South Gigants and Chubut Volley three times each and losing only one set. Marcos Milinkovic leds a team with many local stars as spikers Gastón Giani and Guillermo García and setter Sebastián Firpo. Cuban middle blocker Ihosvany Hernández apport many direct block points too.
Formosa Union used the power spikes of Scholtis and Brazilian Rodrigo Gil to become the first rated in Group 3 also losing in tie break against his principal competitor Sarmiento. With four wins and two defeats, both had to analyze the different sets of pros and cons to celebrate the classification.
UPCN recovered from the frustration of failing to advance to the finals of the South American Clubs Championship, demolishing Puerto San Martín and Villa María Volley to get the ticket to ACLAV Cup´s Final Four.
Boca Juniors is the surprise of the tournament and eliminate the champion Drean Bolívar before defeating it twice by 3-1 and 3-2, supported by the aggressiveness of opposite Diego Bonini, who return to Argentina from Drac Palma, Spain.
