The Nia Jax vs. Dean Ambrose “intergender special attraction match” that had been advertised for a WWE house show later this month won’t be happening.
Jax vs. Ambrose had been advertised via a commercial for Raw’s house show in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Friday, February 22, but WWE has confirmed to Dave Meltzer that the match isn’t happening.
Post Wrestling also reported that someone in WWE reached out to them stating that the ad was “outdated” and the house show match wouldn’t be happening.
Ambrose has lost to EC3 at Raw’s house shows this weekend. Jax and Tamina have taken part in angles where they’ve attacked Bayley, Natalya & Dana Brooke after six-woman tag matches where Bayley, Natalya & Brooke defeated Mickie James, Alicia Fox & Nikki Cross.
Jax was an entrant in last month’s men’s Royal Rumble match. She’s been involved in segments with Ambrose on Raw over the past two weeks. On the post-Royal Rumble episode, she struck Ambrose and sent him out of the ring when his attention was turned away from her.
WWE confirmed on January 29 that Ambrose won’t be renewing his contract when it expires in April.
