Aston Villa pushing hard for Loïc Rémy

According to sources contacted by Get French Football News, Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has made Chelsea striker Loïc Rémy his January transfer window priority in the attacking position.

Garde is very keen on bringing the former Marseille man to Villa Park on a loan until the end of the season and has begun a charm offensive for his services, hoping that the French connection could be enough to convince Rémy to join the Midlands side, despite contact having already been made by Southampton and Swansea.

It remains to be seen whether or not Guus Hiddink will allow Rémy to leave the club. The player had been internally listed by Chelsea before the departure of José Mourinho, but Hiddink might decide that Rémy is more integral to his plans that the Frenchman was for Mourinho.

The player wants to leave so that he can receive regular playing time ahead of EURO 2016 and does not believe that that is possible at Chelsea.
