Dakota Kai has officially confirmed that she suffered a torn ACL at an NXT house show last month.

On Thursday morning, Kai announced that she was about to head into surgery to repair the injury. Kai thanked everyone for the support she’s received and wrote that, while it’s going to be tough both mentally and physically, she knows for sure that she’ll be stronger than ever when she returns.

Kai suffered the injury at NXT’s house show in Green Bay, Wisconsin on December 7. She was teaming with Kairi Sane & Candice LeRae in a six-woman tag match against Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke when the injury happened. Kai wrote that she planted her foot awkwardly on a kick and tore her ACL. It became a two-on-two tag match after Kai was injured, with Sane & LeRae winning by disqualification.

Dave Meltzer reported after the injury happened that the belief was that Kai had suffered a torn ACL.
