The Intercontinental Championship will be on the line on next week’s episode of Raw.
The Miz previously won a triple threat number one contender’s match to earn a shot at the title, but when he would be facing Dean Ambrose wasn’t made clear at the time. Things were clarified last night, with WWE revealing that Ambrose will defend his title against Miz next week.
Ambrose and Miz were made co-general managers for the night with Kurt Angle not at Raw in London on Monday. Much of the show was built around their storyline, with the episode culminating in Miz interfering in Ambrose’s non-title main event against Bray Wyatt. Miz closed the show by attacking a downed Ambrose and promising to win the title.
Also seemingly set for next week is Rusev’s return to WWE television on SmackDown. He posted a video on Twitter today where he said that he’s coming to the show to get an answer from Shane McMahon about the video he sent in two weeks ago.
Rusev had said in that video that he would only join SmackDown in the roster shakeup if he got a WWE title shot at Money in the Bank in June. He has been out of action since undergoing shoulder surgery in March.
