INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA has released the brackets for the Division II Wrestling Championships that will be held at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 9-10.
Augustana had two wrestlers qualify for the Division II National Championships after placing in the top-four at their respective weight classes at the Super Region 3 Championships in St. Cloud, Minn. this past weekend. Aero Amo was the 184-pound champion and Lukas Poloncic took fourth at 174 pounds.
Aero Amo (14-2) is making his third consecutive trip to nationals after claiming his third straight Super Region 3 184 pound title. Amo is slated to open with Richard Bencomo (15-6) of Adams State. Last season, Amo was an All-American at 184 pounds with a fifth place finish and went 1-2 at nationals as a sophomore.
The 184-pound bracket features two undefeated wrestlers in Jordan Murphy (22-0) of Ashland and Dakota DesLauriers (10-0) of Mercyhurst. There are seven returning All-Americans in the 184-pound weight class including six from last season. Last year’s All Americans were Amo (fifth place), Murphy (sixth ), Nicholas Fiegener of Cal Baptist (second), Corey Abernathy of Minnesota State (eighth), JaVaughn Perkins of CSU-Pueblo (fourth) and Bradley Metz of Findlay (seventh at 174). The other returning All-American is DesLauriers who finished sixth in 2015.

Lukas Poloncic (19-15) is making his first nationals appearance after taking fourth at 174 pounds at the Super Region 3 Championships. Poloncic opens with two-time National Champion Nick Becker (20-0) of Wisconsin-Parkside. Becker holds a career record of 86-0.
The 174-pound bracket sees five returning All-Americans, including two two-time All-Americans. Becker is a returning two-time national champ and Nolan Kistler of Cal Baptist was an All-American in 2016 and 2017. Nick Foster of McKendree (eighth) and Dalton George of Ohio Valley (sixth) are returning All-Americans from 174 pounds last year and Zach Stodden of Nebraska-Kearney was an All-American at 184 pounds last season.
