Ligue 2 side AJ Auxerre have confirmed the departure of manager Francis Gillot with immediate effect.

The former Sochaux, Bordeaux and Shanghai Shenhua boss leaves the club in 16th place, just three points ahead of Bourg-en-Bresse in the first relegation spot.

Gillot has quit the club on his own accord following a series of disagreements with Auxerre President Francis Graille.
