When Donald Trump first met Kim Jong-un in Singapore last year, he showed the North Korean a breathless four-minute film trailer made especially for the occasion. A Hollywood-style narrator urged the young dictator to seize the opportunity of peace with the US.
Jared Kushner, Mr Trump’s son-in-law, will apparently try to repeat the trick this week at a conference in Bahrain where he will begin laying out his long-delayed plan for Israeli-Palestinian peace.
The Bahrain summit will open with a video entitled “Imagining a Prosperous Middle East Region”, according to a leaked draft schedule.
