Speaking ahead of this afternoon’s match against Strasbourg, Lille forward Jonathan David notably spoke about his future and insisted that his poor form had nothing to do with ongoing rumours.
His words transcribed in RMC Sport, the Canadian international indicated that his mind was still in Lille, after his agent had said in December that this would be his final season at the club.

The striker, who scored 12 goals in the first half of the season, has seen his output drop off in the second half. His contract with Lille runs until 2025.
“You remain professional. I am a player with a lot of ambitions. I want to improve to go as far as possible. Just because that’s being said doesn’t mean that my mind is elsewhere. I’m still here.”
“There are choices to be made and we’ll see what the future holds. I’m calm and staying concentrated until the final match. Then, I’ll rest. Maybe there will be discussions, that’s with my agent. We’ll see what happens.”
