Ligue 1 side Marseille are targeting the possible signing of Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez, according to L’Équipe.

The Swiss international was the subject of discussions from PSG earlier on in the window, but at the time of writing as two concrete opportunities: one with Marseille and the other with Inter Milan.

Rodriguez’s current deal expires in 2019 and he has a €22m release clause in his contract. Marseille are willing to meet that clause, but the problem for OM is that Inter Milan are said to be happy to go above and beyond that amount, taking a possible deal to €27m.

The player is taking time to consider his options, but he is not understood to be totally sold by Marseille’s project at the moment, who are not offering European football.
