Ligue 1 leaders PSG have announced the sensational deadline day signing of Argentinian international forward Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan.

After a summer of protracted negotiations between the player and the Serie A club, which resulted in Icardi last week attempting to sue Inter for €1.5m for excluding him from 1st team activity this summer, the player’s wife and agent Wanda Nara has negotiated him a contract extension with the Nerazzurri.

Icardi joins PSG on an initial loan with an option to buy in a deal that, if the latter clause is activated, will cost Les Parisiens a total €70m.
