PLAYER RATINGS | Lille 1-1 Angers, the Champions again stumble in Ligue 1 after impressive UCL win

LILLE – 1 (Djalo 27)

Ivo Grbić, 4 – Still looks unassured and was lucky to get away with a spilled Boufal shot in the second half.

Zeki Çelik, 5

Tiago Djaló, 7 – His form in Botman’s stead continues to impress as he defended well throughout and notably made a key first half sliding interception to stop Boufal scoring and it was also he who did well to scoop in the opener.

José Fonte, 5

Reinildo Mandava, 6 – He did brilliantly with a diving block with his back to stop Cho from equalising half way through the second half with Grbić stranded.

Benjamin André, 6

Renato Sanches, 7 – He just about scrapes a 7 after an excellent first half as his drive, dribbling and passing instigated much of Lille’s more effective moves and it was his floating free-kick that assisted the opener. He did, as is becoming the norm, fade after the break.

Jonathan Bamba, 5 – Had one or two eye-catching moments and is slowly regaining some sort of form but flitted in and out of the game and overall his effect on proceedings was uninspiring.

Jonathan Ikone, 4

Jonathan David, 4 – He should score early on when slipped in by a clever Yilmaz dummy and failed to offer much of a goal threat besides before being withdrawn just after the hour.

Burak Yılmaz, 4 – Nothing really came off for him once more as he continues a frustrating run of form but even when he plays badly the Turkish international can still offer more intensity, bite and even creativity than any of his teammates.

Others: Yazici 4, Onana 3, Gudmundsson 4, Weah 5.

ANGERS – 1 (Ounahi 83)

Danijel Petković, 7 – Made three key saves to give his team the chance to level, a smart early save one-on-one from David with his foot, a sharp tip over from Fonte and brilliant left hand to stop Yazici in the second half.

Vincent Manceau, 5

Enzo Ebosse, 5

Romain Thomas, 6

Azzedine Ounahi, 7 – A waspish presence throughout and did well to arrive late and pass home the leveller.

Thomas Mangani, 5

Souleyman Doumbia, 4

Jimmy Cabot, 5

Angelo Fulgini, 6 – Neat and tidy as always and linked well with his fellow forwards throughout. Does need to add a consistent end product, however.

Sofiane Boufal, 7 – His pace and skill were a threat and he was at the centre of much of Angers better play and was also involved in the equaliser.

Stéphane Bahoken, 3 – Isolated for long periods, doesn’t offer anything like the drive of Cho and failed to impact the game at all.

Others: Brahimi 7, Cho 5, Lage 5.
