Preview: Monaco vs Lyon (16/10/15)

Monaco will be aiming to secure a big win over fellow big-guns Lyon when the two teams clash at the Stade Louis II on Friday evening. The hosts haven’t made the most impressive start to the season, winning just three of their opening nine league games and sitting 10th in the standings. However, despite their poor start, they remain just five points away from a Champions League spot and can leapfrog their opponent’s in the table with a win, so manager Leonardo Jardim will be hoping for a good performance.

Lyon, meanwhile, have won four out of nine so far, including a 1-0 victory over Reims in their last outing, and are currently eight points behind league leaders PSG. It is big matches like these that title challengers have to pick up points in and manager Hubert Fournier will be fully aware of the need to stop PSG running away at the top.
