WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair addressed the controversy regarding the use of his deceased son Reid in the contract signing segment between Charlotte and Paige on Monday’s RAW on the latest edition of his WOOOO Nation podcast.

While he claimed he wouldn’t share his opinion because he didn’t want to do anything to affect his daughter’s career, he did make some candid comments about talent being afraid to say ‘no’ to storyline ideas in WWE, noting that everyone ‘walks around on pins and needles.’

Below are some highlights from the podcast of Flair talking about the subject.

On the Reid mentions during the Charlotte and Paige contract signing segment on RAW:

“Obviously I have an opinion, but I’m afraid to voice it because I don’t want anything to affect Ashley’s career. I know that Hunter and Stephanie and Michael Hayes have her back. I don’t think she feels she’s comfortable enough to say ‘no’ to anything yet [because] she’s only been up there [for] three months.”

On it being tough to say no to storyline ideas on the main WWE roster:

“It’s a pressure cooker, and a tough spot to be in. If you’re asked to do something, that’s pretty much the way things operate up there. Everybody walks on pins and needles. Just because you’re the champ doesn’t mean you say no. It’s a very sensitive issue, it’s very new, I know her mom is on fire, [bu] I’m not going out on a limb to say what I think.”

On his reaction while watching it and if anyone approached him beforehand to tell him or ask him about it:

“I never heard a word about it. I started crying when I was watching. I don’t think that it would have made any difference [if they came to him beforehand]. If they ask you to do something, what is she going to say? ‘No, I quit?,'”
