Roman Reigns recently spoke about Dean Ambrose’s decision to leave WWE. The Lunatic Fringe is expected to finish up with Vince McMahon’s company at the end of April, even though The Shield recently reunited on Monday Night Raw.
Reigns talked about where he first heard the news of his Shield brother’s departure.
“I think I actually read it on Twitter so I didn’t take it too seriously,” Reigns told reporters. “I’ve always known Ambrose and he likes to stay unpredictable and march to the beat of his own drum”.
Roman also talked about whether or not he knew about Dean’s decision to leave, as well as Ambrose’s mindset.
“It still is a big shock and we haven’t had much time to talk about it because we’ve been on the gas pedal since I’ve been back.
I know one thing, he just wants to be happy. He’s kind of been preparing for when he doesn’t have to rely on anybody. We’ve been lucky enough to be on a crazy roller-coaster ride over the last few years and secure ourselves.”
Reigns said that he and Dean will still talk when Ambrose leaves, but that “this is WWE and you never know what’s going to happen.”
Many WWE fans were likely hoping that Dean would change his mind and stay with the company. The Shield is back together after all and they will return to the ring as a unit at Fastlane on March 10. But that may indeed not be enough for Ambrose to remain with WWE.

If he does leave the company, he would become the hottest free agent in the business. AEW, New Japan and Ring of Honor may all be in the running to sign the former Shield wildcard.
