NXT faced huge sports competition last night with the American League Wildcard game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees averaging more than 7.1 million viewers and airing directly opposite the show.

NXT fell to 34th on the cable charts with a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 7.1 percent from last week. That matches the lowest number NXT has done in that category on the USA Network since February 10.

NXT’s numbers were down from last week in most age groups. One exception was people over 50, where NXT drew the same 0.39 rating as last week. NXT had the same rating in 18-34 as last week, but that was a near record low 0.06 rating. Females 12-34 also matched the all-time low of 0.03 that NXT set last week.

As compared to this same week last year, when NXT was airing head-to-head against Dynamite on Wednesdays, NXT was down 1.1 percent in overall viewers and down 18.8 percent in the 18-49 demo, so the audience is skewing much older.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo numbers for NXT on USA, along with the 10-week average prior to last night. This week’s NXT was down 4.5 percent in overall viewers and down 18.8 percent in the demo as compared to the recent average.
