Gail Kim Says She Never Wants to Return to WWE, Believes Impact Wrestling has Better Booking

Gail Kim recently spoke to Chris Van Vilet on a variety of pro wrestling topics. One of those topics was WWE and how Vince McMahon’s company reigns over the industry. Kim was asked if she ever wanted to come back and her answer was straight to the point.

“Our business is such a monopoly right now. Vince is the main man, WWE is the main company, they have a lot of money and even if you don’t work for the company, you hope to get rehired, or you hope for maybe the Hall of Fame. It’s like they have that control over you. For me, I experienced the company twice. I know it’s not a place that I would ever want to return. It was not a great time, both times in my life, not just my career.”

But Kim also spoke about her current run with Impact Westling, which she expects to be the last of her career. The always outspoken star feels that the embattled pro wrestling company is in much better shape than WWE from a creative standpoint.

“Right now, I believe Impact creative is better…I truly believe that. It’s not just cuz I work for them. All I hear from the general fanbase is how badly the (WWE) creative is right now and how they’re not really enjoying the show…you know if you watch both shows and you have an opinion, then that’s your opinion. But if you’re not gonna watch one show and then you have an opinion, then to me it’s like okay. You’ve gotta give them both the chance.”

Gail Kim came out of retirement because she was ultimately unhappy with the storyline that led to her pro wrestling departure in 2018. Now she’s back against arguably the industry’s top female performer in Tessa Blanchard, who will surely give Kim the proper sendoff as she walks away from the business on her own terms.
