Lens players hurting after defeat in derby to Lille

Speaking after Lens’ first defeat in Ligue 1 this season against local rivals Lille, Sang & Or striker Loïs Openda and wing-back Jimmy Cabot were not best pleased with losing the match after being unbeatable in Ligue 1 for so long, as transcribed by L’Équipe.

“I’m sad to have lost the derby, we lacked energy, we lacked a lot of things. In the second half, they had much more control than us. The return will be a different game. But we have to forget this one and concentrate on the next one. We’re not going to give up because of one game.” – Loïs Openda

“We didn’t manage to come back on the pitch with winning intentions. Obviously, this result is disappointing, especially compared to what we have shown since the start of the season. It sucks not to show that in the derby. We didn’t do enough good things to win the game. We didn’t manage to put in our usual intensity.” – Jimmy Cabot
